About Shutterpug Photography:
Shutterpug Photography is a business for animal people, by animal people. Our portraits
are natural and therefore unique.
April Keiffer is the shutterpug photographer. April has been riding and showing
horses on the GOHJA and A hunter circuits for 20 years. Her photography experience
began as early as high school. April earned a degree in News/Editorial Journalism
from the Honors College at University of Central Florida. While completing her degree
work, she worked for the UCF School of Communications as a photojournalism lab assistant.
In this capacity, she taught students to use a basic 35mm SLR camera, to develop
black and white film and to print their own black and white photographs. She also
helped move the UCF photojournalism program into the digital age by teaching students
to use negative scanners and the basics of photo editing software.
The shutterpug inspiration comes from April’s own menagerie. She has always taken
portraits of her many animal friends, both black and white and color, and has often
been asked by others to do the same for them. This brought her to take pictures
of the human kind as well.
About the Shutterpug: Silent Bob is the original Shutterpug mascot.
He is an 8 year old pug that has lived with April since he was 5 months old. He
is a constant source of inspiration, humor and lots of noises.
The Shutterpug loves to make new friends, so please feel free to use the Contact
page to get in touch with us!
